monday morning faith

“Your first thought is faith, your second is fear dressed up as wisdom.”

Ouch.

That was the one word ringing through my thoughts as a guest pastor preached a convicting sermon during our church conference.

It was the exact phrase I needed to hear to start making bolder choices in my life, walking in the confidence and authority I had somehow managed to forget I had.

After hearing that message on Sunday, it was easy to walk out of the building, ready to face new challenges.

But come Monday morning, I had already forgotten the words that had fueled a burning desire to walk in obedience.

It reminds me of the song “Monday Morning Faith” by SEU Worship. A ballad about wanting the Lord and His presence beyond just the Sunday message from the pulpit.

“Hell’s not scared of a Sunday faith, if it only leads to empty praise.”

But how often do we wake up and forget the words that clung to our hearts and pressed us closer to the calling God placed within us?

I’m not sure what encouragement I’m trying to offer; I think this is more of an acknowledgement that so many people struggle with this, even I. It’s a reminder for myself, just as much as it is for you, to constantly and continuously seek His face and His word, long after the pastor walks off the stage and hands his mic to an awaiting producer.

A long intro to simply offer some insight into the next few weeks, a mini series called, you guessed it, Monday Morning Faith. Just small encouragements to remind you that the joy, freedom, grace, and mercy of Jesus Christ lasts long beyond Sunday.

I’m not sure what it will entail, but I’m choosing to walk in obedience.

The posts will mainly be over on Substack! Hope you’ll enjoy me over there. 🙂
